Hourly Power Outage Schedules in Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: Starting March 24, 2023, Ukraine is reintroducing scheduled hourly power outages. This measure was prompted by severe damage to energy infrastructure from Russian missile and drone strikes, which have placed the country's power grid under significant strain. The blackout schedules will be in effect during specific windows: from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

As part of these measures, industrial consumers will face power capacity restrictions from 6:00 AM until midnight. In the Zhytomyr region, hourly outages are planned from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by a break with no restrictions from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and then a single-phase outage from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Similarly, in the Vinnytsia region, scheduled outages will occur from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Regional Breakdown

In the Cherkasy region, the outage schedules may be updated throughout the day, reflecting potential shifts in the energy situation. In the Kirovohrad region, the March 24 schedule includes multiple phases, specifically from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Zaporizhzhia region is also implementing hourly blackouts on this day. In the Kharkiv region, power outages will apply from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Additionally, on March 23, emergency power cuts were enforced in Kyiv, highlighting the escalating energy crisis in the capital. These scheduled outages represent a critical response to the ongoing challenges posed by hostile attacks on the country's energy network.

The introduction of hourly power outages in Ukraine is a direct response to the difficult energy situation caused by attacks on power facilities. These measures are designed to reduce the load on the grid and ensure a more stable electricity supply. During wartime, it is essential not only to maintain the stability of the energy infrastructure but also to support both the population and industry through these tough times.
