At the Zhmerinka station, a train was delayed so that a passenger with three children could make her transfer. Before the train stopped, a message about a 'bomb threat' appeared.

Alina Smirnova shared that this incident occurred on January 1, 2026, when she was traveling with her children to the Carpathians with a transfer in Zhmerinka. Due to a long wait in the fields near Kyiv, which lasted nearly two hours, the woman was very worried that she would miss her next flight and would be left in a foreign city with small children.

Help from the Staff

After contacting the train conductor, a difficult coordination process began: the train manager contacted the Zhmerinka station, and they reached out to the management of the next flight. When the train finally arrived at the station, the passengers were already waiting.

“After some time, the train manager personally came into our compartment and said: 'I need to transfer you somewhere. I was in contact with another train — there are no seats. But your train will wait for you; they agreed,'” the passenger recounted.

Alina noted that she did not expect such attention to their family as they were not representing an official delegation or group.

“On the platform, station workers in vests were calling: 'It's them!'. For clarification: it was only me and three children transferring. They helped with the suitcase and led us to the train. We boarded — the conductor called the manager that we had gotten on, and the train immediately left,” recalled Alina Smirnova.
