Ukrzaliznytsia Train Changes Route to Save Child: A Rescue Story During Snowstorms.

Ukrzaliznytsia changed the train's route and stopped in one of the villages in the Khmelnytskyi region to pick up a sick child with disabilities along with her mother and transport them for treatment in Kyiv.

Iryna Vlasenko, the child's mother, reported that due to strong snowstorms, she and her daughter could not reach Khmelnytskyi to catch a train to the capital and visit Okhmatdyt. She appealed to Ukrzaliznytsia to make an additional stop.

In response to Iryna's request, Ukrzaliznytsia quickly reacted and halted the train at the station in the village where the family resides. The woman noted that boarding went smoothly, and the railway workers assisted her and even prepared a gift for the child.

Treatment and Health Condition

Currently, the mother and daughter are at Okhmatdyt. During the previous visit, doctors established a diagnosis, and this time they plan to conduct an MRI for the child to determine the further treatment plan. According to the doctors' forecasts, the therapy course will last at least two years.

Iryna explained that her daughter's health problems started after an injury sustained in kindergarten. Another child pushed her, resulting in fractures of the neck and pelvis. Currently, the child has osteomyelitis, and a criminal investigation is ongoing regarding this incident.

Family Matters

To take care of her daughter, Iryna had to leave her job. The biological father of the child went missing on May 15, 2025, and her current husband also serves in the Armed Forces and is rarely home.

In Ukraine, abnormal cold weather and heavy snowfalls continue, and experts predict that the cold weather will last at least another week.
