Vasyl Kostiuk on Challenges for Sports: Why He Supports Karate in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Patron and entrepreneur Vasyl Kostiuk evaluated the results of the Ukrainian Karate Federation's activities in 2025 during an interview. He identified the main directions for its development and the challenges facing Ukrainian sports.
Kostiuk emphasized that his decision to support karate is based on the values and responsibility that this sport instills in athletes.
“For me, it is a combination of two things: values and responsibility. Karate is not just a sport, but also discipline, respect, and inner strength. In a difficult time for the country, I believe it is important to support environments that cultivate strong and conscious individuals,” said the patron.
Assessing the results of 2025, he noted that the UKF not only maintained stability but also activated its activities, particularly by increasing the number of competitions in Ukraine, participating in international events, and working with youth.
“First and foremost - the stability of the Federation and the development of athletes even in difficult conditions. Competitions held in Ukraine, participation in international events, none of which was without a Ukrainian podium, support for children and youth - all of this points to a strong team and the right direction of movement,” Kostiuk stressed.
Among the key initiatives of the year, he highlighted the creation of a children's national karate team with transparent selection and funding. Kostiuk emphasized that such projects have strategic significance for the Federation and Ukrainian sports as a whole.
“The creation of a children's national team is a serious incentive for both young athletes and parents, who often invest significant resources in their children's participation in competitions. This is also a powerful contribution to preparing the future generation of adult karate champions,” he emphasized.
Among the main challenges for Ukrainian sports, Kostiuk noted instability and limited resources. He also stressed that systematic business support provides sports federations with the opportunity to plan development, invest in infrastructure, and prepare athletes instead of operating in a mode of constantly overcoming crises.
Summarizing the year, the patron thanked the athletes, coaches, parents, and the UKF team for their daily work and dedication to Ukrainian karate. He noted that sports victories today become an important source of motivation, joy, and hope for Ukrainian society.
This year has been an important stage for the Ukrainian Karate Federation, particularly due to the increase in activity and support from patrons. The initiatives launched by Kostiuk play a key role in creating a favorable environment for young athletes striving for success on the international stage.
